Dr. Roadcap is an associate in the Biotechnology/Chemical group.  He has extensive experience both in the preparation and prosecution of patents and in litigation matters.  Dr. Roadcap’s litigation experience includes involvement in all phases of inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board at the USPTO, as well as in proceedings before the United States International Trade Commission.  Dr. Roadcap’s primary technical areas of expertise are in the areas of pharmacology, cancer biology, cell biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and molecular biology.

Prior to his legal endeavors, Dr. Roadcap was a post-doctoral researcher at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina.  There, he performed translational research on cancer cells with the goal of elucidating the molecular basis for the motility of metastatic melanoma cells.  Dr. Roadcap’s graduate work was performed at Duke University, where he received his PhD in the department of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology.  His work there was dedicated to understanding the role of protein phosphatases in regulating cytoskeletal dynamics in dendritic spines, particularly during development and as part of learning and memory.  As a result of his research endeavors, Dr. Roadcap is an author on seven research publications in high impact peer-reviewed journals.  Further, he is an author on three literature reviews, has presented his work at seven national and international meetings, and has been selected as a speaker at an international cancer research conference.  He has been supported by a Ruth Kirschstein NRSA Post-Doctoral Fellowship as well as a Lineberger Cancer Center Postdoctoral Fellowship.
