Dr. Peters is a student associate in the Electronics Group. At Sterne Kessler he has been involved in dozens of post-grant proceedings, representing both patent owners and petitioners in front of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. In 2016, Dr. Peters was counsel on more post-grant proceedings than any other patent agent, and was listed as #32 among all practitioners by Docket Navigator. Dr. Peters also serves on the communications committee of the PTAB Bar Association, regularly contributing to the association’s bi-weekly Roundup newsletter.
His technical background is in wireless communications, and specifically on physical layer technologies such as MIMO, OFDM, and turbo coding. Prior to joining Sterne Kessler, he was co-founder and president of Kuma Signals, coordinating wireless research and development contracts with a variety of public and private entities. He also served as a technical advisor for LTE and WiMAX-related patent matters.
He is the recipient of the 2013 Best Paper Award from the European Association of Signal Processing (EURASIP) Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, and his publications on wireless broadband standards, relays, and interference have received numerous citations by other researchers.
Dr. Peters is a student member of the American Bar Association, and a member of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society, Eta Kappa Nu, and IEEE.
